The Manatee County Emergency Support Group, Inc (MCESG) is an auxiliary support unit for tactical, administrative and logistical communications in any emergency, declared or undeclared.  However, we depend on community and government support as much as they depend on us.


  1. The organization is aligned to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and is intended to function according to the Incident Command System (ICS).
  2. MCESG recognizes the Threats/Hazards Identification and Risk Assessments (THIRA) of jurisdictional authorities within Manatee County, Florida and strategically develops auxiliary communications resources and capabilities utilizing not for profit fund raising and all volunteer labor.
  3. MCESG is authorized and established by the Manatee County Emergency Management Division to provide volunteer professional communications specialists, administrators and radio operators for essential communications during events or periods of national, state or local emergency (declared or undeclared) and special events.
  4. We provide personnel skilled in a variety of communications modalities for support of communications in general and driven by the needs of Manatee County Emergency Management and all partner agencies.
  5. Members of this service are an essential staff resource intended to augment agency and Public Safety communications.  There are no membership dues and all personnel are unpaid volunteers.
  6. Our single leadership structure provides quick and effective response and a cadre of trained reserve communicators.
  7. We are engaged within the Emergency Management Community across the local, regional and state jurisdictions by:
  8. Working with state and local officials within the Florida State Emergency Response Team.
  9. Collaborating with all local Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and the National Weather Service SKYWARN programs.
  10. Assisting with community events such as rallies, races, marathons and parades, all of which create training opportunities and promote team building.
  11. Collaboration with all local civic organizations and clubs for mutually beneficial community objectives.


MCESG is a registered 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation.


The 2024 Giving Challenge is a 24 hour event from 12 noon April 9 through 12 noon on April 10. 

Donations are 100% tax-deductible and will be Matched 100% up to $100.
